Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Elyce is an avid traveler. She has lived in Mexico, France, Spain, and China, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. Elyce graduated from Texas Tech University in 2009 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Global Affairs and Spanish. In 2020, she completed a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Elyce's social work experience spans almost 20 years. She has worked with refugees, children in foster/adoptive care, adults with mental illness, victims of human trafficking, and in mental health policy. As a social worker, Elyce enjoys working with children and families to prevent separation, improve kinship care, and support reunification.

As a foster/adoptive mom of six children, Elyce, with her husband, Dustin, have seen it all. Elyce enjoys salsa dancing, yoga, watching anime, and spending time with her big family.
