Lisa Gianatasio

Resource Center Manager - South

From the classroom to the community, Lisa has always found herself drawn to children and the people who care for them.

Long before joining the Foster Village team as our Resource Center Manager at Oak Haven, Lisa was the regular nanny for a foster family during college, hand-painting personalized hard-shelled suitcases for children experiencing foster care who had been moving their belongings in garbage bags, and supporting the Eagle Scout projects that built the sorting tables and shelving still in use at Oak Haven today. This role feels like a natural continuation of something she has carried for a long time.

Lisa graduated from San Jose State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Art, specializing in Pictorial Art — drawing, painting, and printmaking. She spent years with Dripping Springs ISD as a paraprofessional in Special Education and as a substitute teacher, and simultaneously hosted after-school and summer virtual escape rooms for elementary students. She holds certification in Trauma-Informed Care.

Originally from Santa Clara, California, Lisa relocated to the Dripping Springs area in 2013 with her young family. She loves the people and the country of Dripping Springs deeply, though she does miss the beaches, the Sequoia trees, and the amazing farmer's markets she grew up with in California.

Lisa's three boys are now all college-aged and beyond, and she adores her daughter-in-law and is especially smitten with her new grandson. Her nine-pound schnoodle in a bow tie also has strong opinions about who runs the household — and he's not wrong. Outside of Foster Village, Lisa loves to work out (she knows that's weird), garden, create art, sew, bake, travel, and tackle home DIY projects. She currently serves in the presidency over the children's program at her church.
