Rachel VanHover

Resource Center Manager - North

Rachel VanHover graduated from Drury University with a degree in Organizational Management. Originally from Michigan, she made her way to Austin in 2011 by way of Missouri and quickly found herself rooted in the Central Texas community.

With 14 years of experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters and her own journey as a former foster mom, Rachel brings both heart and firsthand understanding to her role. She and her husband adopted their three children in 2020, and that life-changing experience continues to shape her passion for walking alongside families through the ups and downs of the foster care journey.

Rachel joined Foster Village to support caregivers in the same way she once needed support, meeting families with empathy, practical help, and connection. When she’s not at the resource center, you’ll likely find her outdoors, birding, playing pickleball, or cheering on the Detroit Lions. She also enjoys audiobooks and spending time with her husband, their three kids, and the family cat.
