Samantha Dossett

Volunteer Coordinator

Sam graduated from Texas Tech University in 2016 and has spent the last decade finding meaningful ways to care for those who are often overlooked. She has served as a College Director in West Texas, a Director of Care and Connections for a church plant in Central Austin (New City Church), and supported organizational growth within a local church in West Austin. Sam has a strong history of identifying gaps within systems and organizations then creating thoughtful volunteer opportunities and structure to allow people to use their gifts and passions to meet real needs. She excels in organizational systems, relationship building, and program development.

Sam’s passion for foster care began in high school and has continued to grow through years of working with marginalized youth, as well as through family connections to CASA and foster care advocacy. She originally discovered Foster Village while looking for volunteer opportunities for herself and her husband. When she learned about this role—helping bridge the gap between those who are called to open their homes and those who want to support them in other meaningful ways—it felt like a dream come true.

Sam has been married to her husband, Dakota, for five years, and together they have one child, Truett. They look forward to becoming foster parents in the near future. When she’s not working, Sam enjoys curling up with a good book, laughing with friends, trying new restaurants in Austin, or taking long walks with their sweet German Shepherd, Remi.
