Sarah Bushman
Resource Center Manager - North
Sarah has always been drawn to building community, wherever life has taken her. Before joining Foster Village as our Resource Center Manager at The Perch, she served as Replication Steward and Culture Steward at Mobile Loaves & Fishes, carrying the organization's stories and values to staff and neighbors alike.
Sarah graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas with a BA in Christian Studies, then earned her MA in Cultural Engagement from Trinity Graduate School in Illinois, with an emphasis in Social Entrepreneurship.
Originally from rural Arkansas, Sarah's path to Austin wound through Connecticut, where she and her family served within a marginalized community through church planting, and a fenceline community in the Chicago area, where she worked alongside a local grassroots organization to raise awareness of environmental concerns. Her family moved to Austin so her husband, Casey, could lead family ministry at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and later moved into Community First! Village, where they continue to live as missional neighbors.
Sarah and Casey are the proud parents of three daughters who keep their house full of laughter. Outside of work, Sarah loves gardening, helping at church, game nights, and family birding trips.
