Our Village of Volunteers featuring Haley & Community Helping Hands
Meet Haley, a community builder with a heart for connection and the founder of Community Helping Hands, ATX. Through years of partnership, she and CHH have become a powerful extension of the village, turning generosity into action for families navigating foster care.
Community Helping Hands first got connected to Foster Village through one of their members. After learning more about the work and vision, Haley knew it was something her group wanted to support in an ongoing way.
“Foster Village continues to be a strong partner for Community Helping Hands to offer outreach connection through projects, items needed, support," she shared.
Since those early days, CHH has led donation drives, helped set up spaces in our resource centers, and consistently raised awareness about the importance of supporting families in foster care.
They helped create the original clothing room at our previous North Austin resource center on Limerick Ave, collected diapers and shoes to restock our shelves, and have stepped in on several special projects.
Most recently, they brought to life the new clothing room for little ones at our new North Austin resource center. What was once an empty space is now a beautifully organized, welcoming room where families shopping for babies ages 0–3T can find what they need. From shelving and lighting to baskets and soft touches, Community Helping Hands helped transform the room into a space that feels thoughtful and supportive from the moment you walk in, reminding kids and families they aren't alone.

Beyond the projects, Haley has been a key voice in helping others understand and engage with the Foster Vilalge mission. Her group has promoted our Growing the Village Is Sweet campaign and encouraged families to host lemonade stands to raise both funds and awareness for children and caregivers navigating foster care.
“Foster Village's leadership team also is great to work with and is very responsive with communication to allow Community Helping Hands members to meet the needs in a way that makes it simple."
That simplicity has helped more people say yes to showing up and helped volunteers see how even small efforts can create a lasting impact.
Haley shared what this partnership means not just for Foster Village families but for the volunteers who have stepped in along the way. She’s seen members learn about the mission, get involved, and continue serving for years to come.
And when asked what she's learning by being connected to Foster Village she simply said,
“We all have something to give.”
To Haley and the entire Community Helping Hands crew, THANK YOU! Thank you for giving your time, energy, and care so generously and for showing others just how powerful it is when a community comes together for kids and families.
At Foster Village, volunteers make this mission possible. You are the hands and hearts that wrap around children and caregivers with essentials, connection, and hope.
