Foster Village Named 2026 Design for All Partner by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture
We're thrilled to share that Foster Village has been named the 2026 Design for All partner by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture (MHOA), an Austin-based architecture and design firm. Now in its fifth year, the Design for All program awards $20,000 in pro bono design services to one nonprofit selected from a competitive statewide applicant pool.
The project will produce a full design, renderings, and floor plans to transform an existing A-frame structure on our North Austin resource center property into a trauma-informed healing and creative arts space for children experiencing foster care. Design work begins this month and concludes with a final presentation in September 2026. Those renderings and floor plans will then serve as the centerpiece for our broader capital campaign to fund construction.
"For children in the foster care system, the spaces they experience matter deeply," said Chrystal Smith, Foster Village's Founder and CEO. "Partnering with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture gives us the opportunity to expand our nature and art therapy programs, offering a healing haven for the kids who need it most." We're so grateful to the team at MHOA for investing their talent in our community.
