Foster Village bridges the gap.
Foster parents often feel tired and alone. Most families foster for less than a year, citing burnout and lack of support as the reason they stop. At the same time, 85% of people who are not foster parents say they care about vulnerable children and want to help.
Foster Village bridges this gap between foster families and caregivers and those who want to help, meeting practical needs and providing holistic support beyond the system.

Together, we can make sure foster families and children have their basic needs met, connect foster families to resources and to each other and advocate for change in the system, creating a better future for our community, our children and the caregivers who raise them.
Our goal is to create opportunities for foster families – both the children and the parents – to connect with each other. By connecting foster families with other foster families, biological families and trusted resources, families are strengthened and empowered to continue fostering.

After the successful launch of our Austin, Texas location in 2016, Foster Village created an Affiliate Program that allows groups nationwide to launch their own non-profit using the Foster Village model, brand and network of collaboration. Each location is a separate 501c3 organization with a shared mission.

Our goal is to make your life easier, foster parents. We know first-hand how overwhelming those first days with a new placement can be, and we are here to connect you with the items you need as you welcome a new child into your home. We have child-friendly, trauma-informed Resource Centers in North Austin and Dripping Springs that are home-like havens stocked with basic necessities for children entering your care and available at no charge to you. All you have to do is request them!
