Laura Duran Villa
Affiliate Development Manager
Laura has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit administration, marketing, business operations, and project management. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. Laura moved to Austin in 2000 from her hometown of El Paso, Texas, and she’s been living in Dripping Springs, Texas, since 2016.
Laura’s grounded by her faith and the daily grace of God that has led her through mountains and valleys of life. She’s married to Rich, and together they share an interest in serving their community. Rich is a commercial litigator and volunteer firefighter with North Hays County Fire Rescue (NHCFR). They have three, beautiful children - Brenna, Jaxon, and their angel daughter, Ellie, in Heaven. Laura also has two grandchildren and a German Shepherd named Max.
Laura’s always had a heart for working with empowerment programs in education and business that assist clients with access to personal and professional development and paths to self-sufficiency. On a personal note, Rich and his sibling were in foster care when they were children and that experience opened the discussion about how Laura and Rich could help other children. They considered fostering before the birth of Ellie, their medically complex daughter, who took them in a different direction. Laura’s happy for an opportunity to be involved in an organization that supports the children and families intersecting with foster care.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys watching Jaxon play select baseball, hiking, soaking up sunshine, live music, and sports events.
