The Team

Zhane Sylvain was born and raised right here in Austin, TX. She graduated from Texas State University in August of 2022 with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing, and she’s been using her creativity as the Media and Communications Director for a local church in San Marcos.

After spending some of her college years volunteering as a camp counselor serving at-risk youth and their families, Zhane’s interest in the nonprofit world was sparked. Many of the children and families at the camp were experiencing foster care, and encountering these families’ unique needs had a profound impact on her trajectory for serving the underserved. Now, she’s thrilled to bring her passion for storytelling through photography to the Foster Village team.

Zhane is the youngest of three siblings, and the mother of an incredibly cute and energetic dog named Charlie. She spends most of her free time paddling the San Marcos river with her pup, hiking and camping in any national park, road-tripping, plant-collecting, and reading any fiction book she can get her hands on. She also loves doing volunteer ministry.
